Monster pool & shop

The shop offers monsters by rarity, and a shop rank sets how likely each rarity is to appear.

Balance 12Steam build 24079270

Exact rules

  • The shop has a rank, and current effects raise or lower it: 'Increase shop rank by 1.', 'Gain shop rank +2 and $10.', and 'Lower the shop rank.'
  • The shop HUD shows the current rank beside one percentage per rarity, so rank sets the appearance odds rather than a fixed list of monsters.
  • At Rank 5 the HUD reads 55%, 30%, 15%, 0%, 0% across five rarity colours, which totals 100%. This is the only rank whose exact odds are evidenced here; other ranks are not established.
  • A shop has a highest available rarity that can change, because a current effect reads 'transform into a random monster 1 rarity above your shop's highest available rarity.'
  • Rerolling replaces the current offer, costs money in the HUD, and current effects grant free rerolls, including 'Gain 1 free reroll.' and 'Gain 3 free rerolls every day.'
  • Effects can skew what the shop stocks: 'Legendary monsters are much more likely to appear in your shop.', 'A Mythical monster will appear in your next shop.', and 'All monsters in your shop are SHINY.'
  • Every rarity including Mythical has a ticket item that rerolls a shop filled with that rarity, so Mythical can be offered by an effect even where rank odds show 0%.
  • Eight current Batomon are tagged in the artifact rather than left untagged: Pipskull, Ratacomb, Rattleghast, Voltalith, NULL-00, NULL-7F and NULL-FF are UNAVAILABLE, and MissingN. is SECRET. The tags mark them as set apart from the ordinary 80; the artifact does not state the mechanism.
  • Whether the pool is shared between players or generated per player, whether copies are finite and removed when bought, how rank rises by default, and the odds at any rank other than 5 are not established by available evidence.

Common questions

Is the Batomon Showdown monster pool fixed?
No. The shop has a rank, and current effects raise or lower it with wording like 'Increase shop rank by 1.' and 'Lower the shop rank.' The shop HUD shows a percentage per rarity beside that rank, so offers are drawn by rarity odds rather than from a fixed list.
Is the monster pool shared between players?
Not established. Neither the vendored build data nor the shop HUD states whether offers come from one pool shared across players or are generated per player, so this page does not claim either.
Do shop odds change as the run goes on?
Rank changes the odds, and effects can change rank mid-run. The only rank whose exact odds are evidenced here is Rank 5, where the HUD reads 55%, 30%, 15%, 0%, 0%. Odds at other ranks and the default rank progression are not established.
Can Mythical Batomon appear in the shop?
The Rank 5 HUD row shows five rarities with the last two at 0%, so rank odds alone do not offer Mythical there. Effects still can: Crimson Ticket rerolls a shop with all Mythical monsters, and another current effect makes a Mythical monster appear in your next shop.
Which Batomon are not normal shop offerings?
Eight of the 88 current Batomon carry a tag instead of an empty one: Pipskull, Ratacomb, Rattleghast, Voltalith, NULL-00, NULL-7F and NULL-FF are UNAVAILABLE, and MissingN. is SECRET. The tags mark them apart from the ordinary 80; the build data does not say how they are obtained.
